Didn't Kurilla like to have all of his newcomers read Gates of Fire as well?Deucedfour said:Trip_wire, that is an awesome post. I think my former battalion commander used these as a tool to win in our AO. I can't really say for sure, but I do remember my PL telling me he was required to read several book, including sun tzu (SP?), and I do believe T.E. Lawrence was a required read for all new incoming officers to my unit.
I believe we'd be more successful if more senior NCO's/officers were encouraged to learn this before they ever step foot in theater.
