Letter sent to James Foleys parents released.

If that's actually it, they definitely didn't get their best England speaker to write it. Still, some interesting points contained within it, and what looks like a challenge to a straight up round of fisticuffs.

Still, I'm in favour of:

So it's not religious fervour that drives them, it's money. I wonder if they're manned by ex-Somali pirates?

That email just makes IS look a bit silly. Moaning on about the US using force and then whining that their kidnap demands hadn't been met. Bragging that they have the capability to hurt America's old people... Yeah! Go IS!
All that says to me is that they recognise their relative weakness to the US and they acknowledge US attacks are hurting them in Iraq.
Cutting people's heads off is getting to be like a tired party trick- unpleasant in the extreme for the victim and distressing for their loved ones, but showing the perpetrators up as being like little kids trying to shock the grown-ups.
If their take on Islam was the one true path, they wouldn't have to force people down it at the point of a gun (or knife) would they? Same for all religions though: weird little people having the temerity to award themselves the role of spokesperson of the allmighty.

The US does not negotiate with terrorists......but it does get pissed with them!
I cannot think of an action more likely to induce President Obama to smite them in an Old Covenant way than to saw the head off a captive and then threaten to do the same with another one they have.
I can only assume that direct involvement of US ground forces is what IS are desperate for so that they can scream on about their self proclaimed Holy Caliphate being attacked by the forces of evil. Sad to say that this will play into their hands as American ROE's will prevent their forces shooting the scum down like dogs whereas Peshmerga and Iraqi forces will be under no such constraint.

If I was IS with an armoury consisting of rusty ex soviet era junk , I would be keeping my head down, rather than demanding that the US get involved.

What ever state they manage to set up will be shunned by the rest of the world and the resources will soon run out, who is going to fund them and supply the weapons ?

Well, there's been talk that Saudi and Qatar have been bankrolling 'em, so...

Even if that's exaggerated there will always be some third world dictator with an axe to grind and an eye for some other people to do his dirty work for him so he can keep his distance from it all who'll spend a chunk of his Western aid money financing and/or arming 'em.

Let's face it; whether it's Hamas or the IRA - these groups always manage to source/steal funds from somewhere and acquire a nice arsenal with it. IS seems to be a lot bigger and lot more organised than the "traditional" terrorist group model, too.

It was probably one of 'the beatles'.

Incidentally, has anyone else had a little chuckle about the choice of name? Assuming the spelling is taken to be 'beetle', they've taken a very derogatory (in Islam) nom de guerre.

My particular favourite (taken from the 'My Islamic Dream' website

Black Beetles, Dung-Flies and all other types of Flies — they symbolise weak people of little or no standing in society.

There will probably be a bunch of loons proclaiming to be Scorpions or something next.

You should pay more attention to the news.

You're kidding, right? They're rolling in cash and won't be running out any time soon.

I suppose a group like that would walk 500 miles to see the wind of change.

Their Pure Instinct no doubt tells them that they in their Moment of Glory as they carry out their Savage Amusement.

However, whilst they Fly to the Rainbow in this Crazy World, almost In Trance the Virgin Killer may have a Blackout and be Taken by Force.

When Eye II Eye with a Lonesome Crow they will realise they are not Unbreakable when they Face the Heat and that their failure to comprehend Humanity: Hour I comes with a Sting in the Tail and it is not Love at First Sting.

They will soon feel the Animal Magnetism of those who go always that little bit further than 500 miles and Comeblack. TBA.

I'd surmise that you could throw a dart at any Middle East nation, however pro- West it appears on the FO scale of moderation, and they'll be supporting IS.
Use the collecting tins proffered in every Irish pub and club in the land as a learning curve. 70% of the contributors would have stuff all interest in 'the cause' beyond wanting to appear belonging to the crowd at that moment.

IS, a group of Islam fanatics, with a weapon in one hand, a quran in the other hand and porn mag on his lap sitting in a dark room trying to figure out how he can handle 72 virgins in one go.

Depending upon which source you read, the slogan "Millions for defence but not one cent (or sixpence) for tribute" was uttered in response to the French who were trying to blackmail the US because of a treaty we had signed with Great Britain in 1797 or to the Barbary pirates who were ransoming ships of all nations who used the Mediterranean Sea at about the same time. It has been our usual policy since then not to pay ransom money to terrorists (most of the time; Bergdahl is a recent exception.) I suppose though that the "minds" behind IS don't know their history or don't care.

I'm sorry for Foley and his parents, but we should continue to bomb the s*it out of IS and encourage the New Iraqi Government to take back their territory which has been usurped by the IS nutters. I thought that was what we fought the Iraq War for in the first place. We certainly gave them the training and enough expensive equipment to do the job.

It looks like the intelligence services are closing in. The name Abdel-Majeed Abdel Bary, son of a Bin Laden Lieutenant is currently under suspicion, it appears that he is a rapper and they just had to analyse voice against his rapping songs and past phone calls to his family who are of interest anyway.

Watch this space!!!

Well the IRA souced funds from the US - ironic eh?
