Lee Enfield No4 Rifle

A No4 Lee Enfield, deactivated rifle.

.303 cal, familiar to anyone older than 30 that served in any ACF, and possibly the finest rifle ever made.

Rifle is a perfect wall hanger and if it goes for a decent enough amount, I will include a spike bayonet.

only just seen this thread. Its lucky you are to be here as all who attacked Serre that bright july morning were well hammered by Fritz. 12th (Sheffield City Batt) ,13 and 14 Batts Y&L, Accrington, Bradford and Leeds Pals lost over 60% KIA.
ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! deactivated???? noooooooooooooooooo that there is a real real nice rifle, that is a good hunting rifle too, for ......ahhhh both two and four lagged critters. Very nice if i had the money I would have a go at it.

I am genuinely confused here. Did someone just pay in excess of $1000 US for a deactivated rifle, i.e. one which does not shoot?

I know, different countries, different laws, and all that, but I looking at my working No4Mk2 Blonde (UF 55 A series) for which I paid $300 this year and I'm trying to figure out if perceived value really is all that different on the other side of the pond. It's not as if we don't appreciate Enfields here, what am I missing? (Other than a bayonet, which I don't have)
