Lebanon Rejects US Extradition Requests

The U.S. government has requested that Lebanese judicial authorities extradite to the United States certain persons believed to have helped commit the 1983 attack on the U.S. Marines barracks in Lebanon.

Lebanon has denied the request, declaring that the attack was within the scope of a general amnesty decreed at the conclusion of the Lebanese civil war in 1990.
