Late-REME Officer wears AGC embellishments

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. While flicking through the September Soldier mag at the Med Centre today I noticed on Page 37 that DAG, one of our very few late-REME Generals, was wearing AGC rank slides and an AGC lanyard (didn't catch the stable belt but I have my suspicions) whilst chatting to troops about JPA.

Does this contravene Corps Instructions (one embellishment only) and has he transferred or has he 'gone native'? I don't recall any of his predecessors as DAG or even AG wearing anything but their parent cap-badge and regalia. What kind of a message does it send to the Corps?

I think we should be told.

  2. Perhaps it's because he is Deputy Adjutant General that he wears Adjutant General's Corps embellishments. As far as contravening Corps Instructions, well he is late REME.

  3. Good point Oracle, but

So why is our man different?

  4. Because he's embarrassed by the parlous state of his former Corps perhaps?

  5. He is infact contravening dress regs. He should be wearing REME rig as he is late REME. However, knowing DAG he does't give a F**K!
