Lariam & TUAV Operators

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. It has come to my attention that UAV operators have been signing for Lariam tablets from the stores.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Lariam and anything to do with aviation is a non starter?

It also states in every FOB I've read that all medication should be prescribed by am MO or AME. Surely signing for Lariam from the stores is wrong especially when operating TUAV's & Doxycycline should be prescribed instead.

I have tried to inform my chain of command but all I got in return is 'It's issued to the Army by bulk which means it's cleared', typical.

Any points or advice is most welcome before I go any further.

Ps I wouldn't take Lariam no matter what job I did.
