Laptop for Ops

#1
Hi,

I'm after a laptop to take on ops, prefer it to be cheap enough, but I'd like to be able to do usual Office stuff plus play DVDs, music and games etc.

Is it worth buying used or should I just stump up for a new one?

Thanks in advance

WH

I reckon the price of a new laptop has dropped so much to a reasonable level that it makes sense to buy new, as you can get a good spec one for a good price.
I have bought second hand/refurbished laptops in the past but had nothing but trouble with them. So i took the plunge and bought a new one last year. Touch wood i have not had any problems with it.

Thanks for the acvce so far, I don;t mind spending the money, I just don't fancy spending £1000 and then it packs up due to the enviroment I'm in or it gets a rough landing!

Any advice on whats the best buy, or what to avoid? I've seen the panasonic and used them before, they were very slow or very expensive.
