Political scuttlebutt has it that the Social Democratic or Centre Left Wing if the Labour party may be about to split.

The SDs have had enough if Corbyn's incompetence, his patently thin holding the government to account, on Brexit or anything else for that matter, the rampant rising anti-semitism, Corbyn diabolic popularity figures and his apologia for anti Western Dictatorships

So a group of MPs have called for a press conference at 10......

How can Jeremy's warm empathy with the Jewish community, his scholastic excellence and Diane's mathematical genius not be seen as real vote winners

Let’s open a book on which of The Gang Of However Many is the first to have the window of their constituency office, first/ second/ third home put through with a brick by one of the democratically elected Momentum Mongs.

I’ll go with Gurning Yvette..

Actually, I’ve a small stack of bricks that I’ve no real use for.....

Somebody was moaning at me about how Cirbyn got paid £20k for being on Iranian TV, given their long history of anti gay abuse, they said it was not true and it was actually 4 payments of 5k,

They did not appreciate my remark that "Oh, so he was willing to appear more often and for less money"

It’s 1981 all over again. Like most sequels, the cast aren’t as good and it won’t be as successful...

Whilst I’m no political ally of the centre-left, at least Woy Jenkins, Owen, Williams and Rodgers had some experience and gravitas. Chuka Umunna and his pals are likely to be forgotten within weeks.

Odds on a few pink tories joining?

When you're not in your cups or toked out of your skull, you can be quite logical.

. . . and, sadly, I predict that this current spat (which will be trumpeted as a 'sea change in British politics) will be nothing of the sort and will end in hot, salt tears.

Hope that I'm wrong but history is agin' it . . .

To have any real significance, it will have to be a "Gang of (Double Figures)" !!

Now, that would be momentous ;) .

..... and on a lighter note ... I always found Woy's speeches entertaining ... and he was a top ranking member of the Labour Party ... not that he ever dared say that of himself ... I'll just get ma coat .

My MP - Owen Smith - may be one of the MPs.*
It is an obviously risky step. The MPs have to ask themselves whether voters are voting for them as individuals, or for Labour. It's easy for MPs to believe the former when it is actually the latter.
If you leave the main party, where is your party machine? Those who will knock on doors for you? Where is your income stream from members and unions?
Leaving Labour is a huge step. One with unpredictable consequences. One quite easily portrayed as an ego-led thing (particularly if Ummuna is one of them).

Funny story re. Smith. He worked in PR in London for ages. Comes to Ponty with a London accent. It does not wash with locals. A week later, he's all deep resonant 'posh valleys' Welsh accent. Lying ****.

*He wasn't. There is talk that he may leave later as a means of keeping the story in headlines.

Only in Labour could they watch the ERG effectively hold he tory party to ransom and think that the best way to move on is leave the party and set up a powerless breakaway.

Its almost a metaphor for Brexit. This is shit, we'll leave and get less power to influence the situation

At least muliti millionaire JK Rowling, Rachel Riley, Edie Marsan and legions of thesp champagne socialist remainers will feel happy for about a nanosecond

As I’m rarely the former and have never been the latter I’m confused?

Is that the same crowd who are leading by example on the Adopt A Refugee front? The ones that believe the world is flat and ends at the NW postcode boundary?

Would disagree, the SDP split back in the early 80s helped turn the Labour Party back towards the centre. In splitting the party vote and opening up the centre left to wider exposure and debate, coupled with Foot's defeat helped re-energise the moderates which got Kinnock in and the long slow trek back to electablity by quashing the outdated dreams of the hard left back to the fringes where they belonged.

Let’s hope not. If a Momentum thug puts a brick through Chateau Balls, think of the shitstorm if it unintentionally hits one of the many Syrian refugees the Balls-Cooper’s have moved into their gaff?
Examples to us all they are, salt of the earth.
