LA Times photos

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A photographer took pictures of a British soldier directing Iraqi civilians to take cover from Iraqi fire. They were spliced together "to improve the composition", but it actually makes it look as if the soldier was threatening a father and his child. The picture ran on Page One of the LA Times, and caused quite a stir in the US.

You'll be glad to know photographer got the sack.
And rightly change the meaning of a photo (intended for publication) is strictly verboten.

The LA Times makes the Guardian look like the mouthpiece of the Hitler Youth it is so left-wing. It is hardly surprising then that they thought a doctored picture would be good front page stock. They wouldn't have dared do that with a pic of a USMC/USAr without being lynched, but the Brits are fair game for any dirty trick to peddle their agenda.
