Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Story in the Yorkshire Post today...

A KOSOVAR shot in the jaw by a British soldier almost 10 years ago has been awarded £2.4m by the Ministry of Defence to compensate him for his injuries.

    it goes on to say....

His award is more than 200 times that which would be given to a British soldier suffering a similar injury and four times that awarded to Doncaster paratrooper Ben Parkinson.

  2. Ridiculous imo, what disablities has he "gained" from the incident?
  3. You're missing the point numbnuts, if a soldier was shot through what could be considered negligence by another soldier, the award would have been the same.

At fault here is the level of compo 'volunterily' given to soldiers injured in the field by MoD, not the level of compo awarded by a civie courts for 'negligence, which is a system open to one and all!
