Kier Starmer corrupt?

Nothing really. I was just joshing if you like but I am sure I wouldn’t have been handing my CO a similar mug. :)

Times change and rightly so!
Off topic (even more…)

It’s one of the advantages of a mixed service / civvy team. The boss could relax with us as we didn’t have the whole weight of military culture bearing down on us. Plus, our ability to question orders made us a useful tool when it came to senior officer politics.

Right, folks. As usual, the thread hasn't gone the way the OP expected, with the result of one more arrser being added to my ignore list for being a total wazzock. It's a small list. Some may call it elite, others the dregs of arrse.

While you're considering that little gem, I'll summarise.

Some folk think Kier Starmer has had an easy ride from the press, despite breaking the rules and being a liar and a hypocrite.

Some folk think he can do no wrong and 'whatabout' loads of other stuff.

Others just don't care because Boris Grr. Tories Grr. Champagne Socialism yayy!

I think that covers over 30 pages of debate. I'll try to close the thread!

Well it certainly hasn't addressed how law might be used more effectively in achieving public health goals in the face of Pandemic disease.

Almost as if that's not what the thread is about.

Bloody disgrace I tell you.

I'm still Grumpy that they are trying to catch each other out with law that would be tipped off the flightdeck at the very second peace was declared.

Me White knighting @Fat_Cav - with my dodgy knees?
No chance, I just know he is a bit slow off the mark and didn't want you to wait too long.

Mate I'm on Greek time. Slow is everything

You had a RLC CO? Only you mentioned giving a mug to your CO.

I do agree somewhat though. Standards did slip a bit when the RLC was formed.

Which was about 20 years after @rgjleft the army, so has an insight into their (our) ethos and culture

I was cheekily referring to another previous post in a roundabout way.

Having said that, there were plenty of heroes if you like in the RLC. From the bomb disposal guys to the pig and saracen drivers that I met in NI etc. A few of them never came home.

So don’t fret about my attitude to the RLC which of course was the RAOC and RCT when I was around. I’m aware of the some of the more scary stuff that some of them had to get involved with.

You are referring to yourself in the third person, and are unable to state what gifts Starmer should not have received.

NFTR.

Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner have returned questionnaires to Durham constabulary, giving their account of a gathering during last year’s local election campaign, the Labour party has confirmed.

Rayners should be interesting - Will she still deny being there ?

Senior party officials have begun tentative planning for a leadership contest should the pair have to step down, the Guardian understands. The party would then face having no clear interim leader, with its leader and deputy having been forced to resign.

A tacit admission that Rules / Laws were broken
