An Aircraft Carrier with no aircraft is just a big ship with a flat top on it. So just to correct your quote:

What's the point it will only be scrapped after about 6 months of sea trials

Couldn't the RN market it as the world's first caravan park cruise liner?

They could make a fortune from people who like caravanning and cruises and who would like to combine the two.

Key section - won't be the flight deck then. Is the 8000 tonnes the engines that allow Ipod charging?
