Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone been watching 'Beyond Boundaries' on BBC2 over the last few weeks?
A good series following a group with various disabilities, as they trek, canoe, ride and climb their way across Nicaragua from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific Ocean.
I wondered about the expedition leader, Ken Hames, who I'd also see on 'Jungle Janes'...something very similar featuring middle aged houswives in Borneo.
I knew he was an Army major, but didn't know he had this background:-

Also, have a peek at his promotional videos, not bad:-
  2. He was featured in a documentary series about the platoon sergeants battle course that was on TV a couple of years ago. I think he was the training major at the time (mid-late 90s)

He was a pretty good Platoon Commander as well, many years ago :)
  4. Was he Arty 7 Para and 29 Cdo then? Just wondering where he got his green and maroon lid before he did selection.
