Very sad..
what can you say about it..nothing good....
Well if his family read this...which i doubt i am deeply sorry for their loss.

It just goes to show that the people (and I use the term very loosely) are not willing to negotiate or listen to anyone or any reason.
My deepest sympathies to his family.

Poor bugger.

Memo to self though: if I ever go to Iraq as a civvy, I must remember not to hire Iraqi security guards.

Probably not great... on the other hand, Connolly does have something of the look of a crazed Islamist about him.

He did not have security guards, chose to live in a vulnerable location and drove a 4x4 with company logo on the door........................ever heard of risk assessment!
It does pain me so that these people put them selves into these situations voluntarily and with huge pay packets whilst our troops are there with little choice.

Not that I do not feel sorry for his family. in much the same way I would feel sorry for someone who played on the M25 blindfold at midnight!

Wasn't Billy Conolley a Para? strikes me as a bit of extreme squaddie humour.

RIP Ken.... bet it hurt like Fcuk

Yes, he behaved like a twat and it's cost him. Doesn't stop me feeling a tad genocidal at the moment, which is, I suppose, his captives' intention.

Yeah.....very sorry for the family, but the reason people are earning $500 a day driving trucks out there is because of the risk....I don't know the circumstances of how this poor guy and his colleagues were lifted but all the above stands. No consolation to his loved ones, but once he was in the hands of these murdering scumbags the chances of him getting home in the face of the ' No negotiations with terrorists' line were pretty remote.

billy connelly,
used to be funny but realised he got more publicity brown nosing royalty.

turned around at the weekend and cracked a joke about they ought to just hurry up and get on with it. audience member heckling with "thats not funny, thats a mans life" to which connelly replied "f**k off"

very intelligent comedy dont you think?

twat extrodinaire!

He's funny as fcuk, but I do feel he overstepped the mark a little.

He is about the only thing from Scotland that shouldn't be exterminated :D

Boys - it doesn't matter how much you earn out there a day, a week, a month or a year. The fact is, a British man was held hostage by the people that we are trying to help, a country that Bliar and his best bud got us into. What did they do to help him? Fcuk all.

I was on Op TELIC 2 and a lad doing the digging with a big truck in Al Haitha (excuse spelling) in someones garden, looking for arms and ammo, was "upset" because the "little boys were crying". Reply from me "They will be the ones killing your children in 10 years time". Sorry to be harsh, but its true

We will still be there in 10 years time. Bosnia, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland etc etc.

God bless his family and friends, and all who went to Birchfield Primary School give him our best.

Really Mum? My experience over the years has been that a lot of the people who horn in on warzones in order to make money are a danger to themselves and others, and they divert attention away from what should be the main effort.

Why did he not have security? Was he trying to keep his overheads down?
