Supposedly a Russian nuclear powered torpedo that can deliver a hefty nuclear payload. A game changer if some of the things stated about it are correct. Not a Jacky tar, so pretty clueless. Anyone know anything about this, hopefully before the thread is infested with Russian trolls.
TIA.

It’s actually a pretty simple concept which amounts to an underwater cruise-missile come drone able to be fired from significant distance. Aside from destroying coastal facilities and cities from the resulting tsunami and contamination, the large size of the warhead avoids the need for accuracy when targeting naval task groups such as a USN carrier task group.

It’s assessed to be so large that the weapon can only be carried externally by the launch submarine.

However, if the Russians were to use one of these, we can assume that we would also be engaged in a more general nuclear exchange; if not, this would precipitate it.

So what does an 80mph torpedo do that an 18000mph ICBM won't?
Avoid Ballistic Missile Defences and arguably produce far greater damage.

From what I've read about it, it has a phenomenal range and speed. Gives the Ivans different options of delivery, also gives them the edge of first strike with next to no warning. As stated in the thread header, unsure as to what is correct and what isn't.
