Just a normal American couple, defending their property

Someone has dropped a bollock here. Firearms cannot be confiscated without and until after due process.

Back in January or February of this year a Democrat State Senator, Jamilah Nasheed, introduced Missouri State Senate Bill 543 which would have suspended Second Amendment rights and allowed confiscation of legally held firearms without sufficient due process.

However the bill never made it out of committee and was binned. Therefore the seizure of any firearms by law enforcement was illegal. I see a nice fat cheque heading to this couples bank account sometime in the future.
And since both are Lawyers you know they will sue

It is not a public road but private road in a gated community. The couple also had a gate at the driveway to their home which had been locked but the peaceful protesters* forcibly smashed down the gates to enter. I have seen the full video which was edited by the to eliminate that part. A friend had the full video on facebook but FB took it down and gave him a posting ban. Media naturally only show the non-violent part.

Note: I said "peaceful protesters" as here in the us terms like "rioters", "looters" and "arsonists" are considered signs of racism.
The red highlighted part shows in clear terms that facebook is a communist asset and working in the interest of communist aims. This needs to be challenged and stopped.

Note weapons seized but couple not accused of any crimes. so the city basically disarmed them for no criminal act and announced to the world they are now unarmed.

note the city didn't charge any of the BLM rectums with any crimes
You seem to be letting the communists crawl out of their holes and infiltrate various cities and states, no doubt through the Democrat party. Could California be the first People's Republic?.

Just be grateful that the police there aren't apologising to ethnic minorities who break the law rather than stand firm and say - Officers actions were correct - you acted like a dick jog on

Bucks and Oxon definitely had different opening times in the '70's.
T'was the thing in those days to arrive at a Buckinhamshire boozer at ( I think 1730 for the first pint and then ride to the nearest Oxfordshire pub for another first pint at 1800.

ETA Could have been 1700 and 1730. Too long ago.
Thanks for that. My fuzzy memory is still fuzzy, but not as fuzzy as I thought. :)

Apparently they've got the highest number of adult prisoners out of all the democratic countries in the world.

They sure have a lot of other restrictions in place for what is supposed to be the freeist country on earth

Freedom isn't free, and it is not the privilege of convicted criminals.

Laws and regulations are a part of civilized society, but we apparently let the proper less privileged experience it a little more freely at the moment than they should.

That particular liberal DA has previous...

I was informed yesterday by an Arrse that Twitter has apparently changed it’s terms so they will now permit “hate speech”
I cannot see that ending well.

This couple are going to have trouble now , the BLM mob will be happy and could take advantage of this!
BREAKING: St. Louis Couple Who Defended Home Now Have Their Rifle Seized After Authorities Execute A Search Warrant
It's why those attacked in their homes in SA often only fire warning shots into the ground and won't shoot the person who is quite often shooting at them. First thing the cops do is sieze (and later lose) their firearms, leaving them defenceless and wide open to retaliation.

Some people arent cowards. I constantly read posts on ARRSE about how hard people are and how they would deal with thugs. Yet when some yank bloke stands up for himself he get slated.
'Cos, if this is correct, they're attention-seeking idiots: so 'scared for their lives' that they went out of their secure house and confronted a baying mob of hundreds of rabid protestors with, at best, one mag of 5.56.

'Over the weekend their lawyer Albert Watkins handed over the pistol to a detective after first displaying it to reporters inside a clear plastic bag. He claimed the weapon was not functional. He said that Mrs McCloskey knew it was inoperable when she pointed it at protesters. Mr Watkins said he would not represent the couple because his handling of the pistol could make him a witness.'

Once again what's that got to do with a bloke who didn't hide under his table and hoped the nasty men just went away.

Those attention seeking idiots, live in a city subjected to crowds of rioters, burning buildings, beating and killing people, with little to zero police response.
They ensured that that didn't happen to them or their property. They did this at the risk to their physical life and what's almost as bad they risked being othered by the MSM and politians.
You may have preferred them to cower and hope the bad people go away. Personally I'm impressed with their physical and moral courage

Nice update

the State Attorney General is moving to quash the charges against the couple since the Local DA charged them and under state law there is a castle doctrine.

Also the local DA has tampered with evidence
The handgun used was inoperable and they asked the Crime lab to make it operable to increase the charges. Thats a felony.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s staff ordered the crime lab to disassemble and reassemble the handgun Patricia McCloskey had voluntarily surrendered to police via an attorney, KSDK reported.

Patricia and Mark McCloskey had told investigators beforehand that the weapon had been rendered inoperable so it could be used as a prop inside a courtroom for a lawsuit against a gun manufacturer.

However, in order to charge Patricia McCloskey under Missouri law, the gun had to be “readily” capable of lethal use, KSDK reported.

St. Louis Assistant Circuit Attorney Chris Hinckley ordered the crime lab to field strip the pistol.

Do you have the criminal offence (or equivalent) of 'Perverting the Course of Justice' like the UK?
It would seem to fit in this instance and is regarded as a very serious offence over here especially if committed by a legal agency.

Perverting the Course of Justice
Obstruction of justice
In US law obstruction of justice generally means acts which are intended to interfere with or thwart official proceedings (including investigations) and the due administration of justice. The offence is set out in a number of federal statutes.

Hopefully the State Attorney General will have the minerals to put this on a charge sheet for the St Louis Circuit Attorney.

PS: Is a Circuit Attorney the same or similar to a District Attorney?

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s
The two lawyers will love her tampering with evidence.
She's not made any friends amongst the police there. The St. Louis Police Officers Association, the union that represents city police, has labeled her policies a “criminal empowerment agenda.”
She's up for re-election on the 4th August.

Is a Circuit Attorney the same or similar to a District Attorney?
Wikipedia says; (my bold)
The name of the role of local prosecutor may vary by state or jurisdiction based on whether they serve a county or a multi-county district, the responsibility to represent the state or county in addition to prosecution, or local historical customs.

District attorney and assistant district attorney are the most common titles for state prosecutors, and are used by several major jurisdictions within the United States, such as California, Delaware, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

State's attorney or state attorney is used in Connecticut, Florida (State attorneys), Illinois, Maryland, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Vermont.

In Kentucky and Virginia, the title is commonwealth's attorney. Commonwealth's attorneys are elected in their respective jurisdictions in both Virginia and Kentucky[4] for terms of four years and six years, respectively.

In St. Louis, Missouri, the title is circuit attorney,[5] while in St. Louis County, Missouri, the title is prosecuting attorney.[6]
