  1. has anyone else read: The Junior Officers' Reading Club: Killing Time and Fighting Wars

finished it the other day and found myself totally onside with a guards officer?!

    good book,
    fierce fighting.
    fierce humour.

  2. Looks like i'll be buying myself a copy as it sounds like a great read. Just out of interest have you read anything else that talks about Sandbags in any detail?

  3. well,

sharpe, master and commander and hornblower are my bibles... :?

  4. Check Amazon for Richard Holmes, Fiasco, Desperate Glory, Ordinary Soldier, Eight Lives Down. You will run out of money before you run out of books

  5. Yes! I have. I agree - a good book. Despite there being about 20 years difference in dates at Sandhurst, it was amusing to see the mind set remains largely the same. Once or twice I thought the author was a bit precious, but generally I couldn't put it down, much to the annoyance of the OC B Echelon at bedtime.
