All, I'm researching a book on forensic anthropology and I've come across the search technique called Winthropping a number of times and indeed even seen it undertaken in different contexts; Military, Law Enforcement and War Crimes investigations. I am trying to track down the Officer 'Winthrop' who originated the search practice. I have been informed that rather than a Royal Engineer, he was a Fusilier Officer but I have had no confirmation from the RRF Museum. I am aware of some of Mr Winthrop's subsequent work with the FBI but have no information regarding his recent activity or indeed even if he is alive. Is anybody able to help me find contact details for Winthrop?
