Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have just seen a new training directive suggesting our unit adopt the TA JOTES system for promoting officers. Am I mad, or hasnt JOTES been phased out?
  2. What's JOTES.

No Wah, I just haven't heard of it.

  3. Basically, yes.

However, I believe some JOTES exams will still be run (last exam early 2007?), but only for Lts registered on JOTES before MK1/JOTAC went live.

If you're not already on the JOTES track, then MK1/JOTAC is the only option (and even if you are, you still need MK1 for whatever JSC is called now).

Unless of course somethings changed in the last few months....

PS: FF, JOTES is the old Lieutenant to Captain exam.
