Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hey all, been in the military a few years been thinking of getting out and into the cheshire police force, was wondering if anybody has any information on this e.g if pay or pension carries on?
    thanks AJ

  2. Try this police forum, they may be able to help you.

  3. At the minute it would not be an easy transition. Not many of the "Forces" are recruiting and when they are the process is taking a long time. If you are serious about it, I would do one of the many police prepartion courses as unfortunately these days you can go into the Police application process just "being yourself".

Part of your pension can be transferred over I believe i.e if you have 9 years army pension you may be able to carry that over as 5 years towards the police pension.

Also, the smaller regional "forces" seem to be quite hard to get into as there simply arent as many slots.
