Joining the Paras at 29

Hi there,

I’m currently a Master’s student studying neuroscience however, I’ve seriosuly considered — and made up my mind — that I’d like to attempt to join the Parachute Regiment, however, I’m aware I’m a little long in the tooth regarding my age.

I was wondering whether it would be possible to go from average fitness to so-called ‘Para fit’ in around six months. Mile and half is currently around 14 minutes and press-ups/sit-ups are around 40 per 2 minutes. So obviously, I’m aware there is a lot of work to do.

Basically what I want to know is, is whether it’s possible, at my age to get to the standard I need?
