  1. Hi guys,

Just looking for abit of advice on Joining 144 Para Med Sqns London Detachment.
I left the Regular Army a little under a year ago, but I have to say I am missing it abit and whilst fully enjoying civilian life I want to keep the fire burning.
I was an Infantry Cpl, before transferring to a more specialist role where upon I qualified as a medic and military parachutist.
I'm quite passionate about my med skills and would like to keep on top of them hence the choice of wanting to join 144.
I'm planning on making the trip north of the water to visit the Det and get more information this week, but If anyone could give me a heads up on whether or not they are recruiting for CMT's, what life is like within the Det and wider Squadron and anything else that could be of interest then that would be awesome.

  2. Where are you based?

A commute over the water sounds incredibly dull
  3. I'm down near Croydon at the moment. I've got 4 Para up the road but, having done the best part of an 11 year career in the Infantry quite fancy trying something new. A 1 hour commute once a week isn't the end of the world.
  4. Cheers Jock, PM Inbound.
  5. Poo_finger. Did you get PM? Not sure if work computer was working.

  6. Now Now!! Dont get jealous of the other boys, I hate you all equally. ;-)

Advice remains the same pal, if you want it....transfer. all in or not at all.
  7. Could go 4 PARA as a medic, I know a couple of them who've deployed.
  8. Do 4 PARA have RAMC Medic's that parade with them on their training nights or is this capability supplied by 16 Med Regt?
    Jock PM Well received buddy.
  9. Quality advice, I usually use that last sentence with the wife!

All Coys are established for RAMC medics attached, and the Bn is established for an RAP.
  11. Don't listen to the dullards who think they know everything!

When was the last time you were in a clown's car anyway, Krusty walt?

There's a med unit at Maidstone.

Might I suggest you pop in and have a butcher's hook?

Time spent in recce is rarely wasted.
