John Venables back in jail

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. surely the home office should at last show some common sense and inform him that he has had his chances, and that from now on there will be no more help to hide his identidy.
He has had more than one chance and i think no one but venebles himself would object.
How many times can someone keep getting a new id when caught doing a crime?
The chance to lead a law abiding and usefull life has been squandered more than once since his release from prison, and as such should release HMG from any obligations concerning his identity.

  2. He is what he is, a waste of skin who was never going to make good.
  3. Better.

Being serious, he should just be locked away. There was an argument, however slight, that his actions as a child should not stop him from being given a chance. To an extent the conspicuous lack of reoffending from Robert Thompson justified that approach. But Venables is clearly dross. He should be put away with Brady and just forgotten about.

Aren't murderers released on licence for life? if they transgress, they go back in?
  5. I'd go with that.

Just kick him out and say 'you've had your fcuking chance (x3)'.

We've got no money in the country, so why squander it on this skid mark? Use the money for someone who needs it.

  6. When will they learn he's not curable!
  7. Ostracised, hated, shunned, with no hope of a future in the UK. Maybe Jon Venables should go over to Afghanistan and enlist as an ANP officer. He would fit in well with his new colleagues.

There is a special category for very high profile cases. If they need hospital treatment there is a flag on the various systems which basically means that the information about the person is highly restricted. You dont see it very often at all, and if you see it, you need to seek advice to access any information about the patient, even to date of birth, etc. I have only ever seen this flag twice, and considering how many murderers, pervs and other general nasty people we deal with from the various secure psychiatric facilities and prisons, its a very rare thing indeed. I can imagine anyone trying to access a CRB check would face a similar "Ring this number for advice" flag.

I recall reading that Venebles was the less evil one, e.g. the led along and not the evil shit that Thompson was. I'm not saying he was also a victim, simply that he was the more immature and followed along.

As for child porn on his laptop. I can only assume that being jailed at 10 meant that you were getting raped by the bigger boys for the next XX years and you're going to come out confused and so on. His child porn predilection is I suspect more a stain on our locked up child care system than perhaps on him.
