Jobs allocation during recruitment?

Hi all, My lad (16) has been messed around for the last few months with the whole recruiting part, his initial job choices were not available anymore after he was knocked back on the medical records check (capita)

After a successful appeal, he was told to pick 3 different ones and was then given a assessment date ( which is next week), and yesterday hes had a call from recruitment office to say the jobs he has down now has all been filled, and only guardsman/chef/logistic support specialist are left available,

He hasnt changed his choices on the portal and is hoping to do very well on assessment day,

Anyone any advice? If he has a good assessment, will he be offered a job he wants to do?

He was hoping to join Harrogate in the sept intake but it doesnt look like thats possible now and he may have to wait for a slot for a job tech job, but unsure if it possible to be offered one for next year at the interview on the assessment?

Hes had some bad luck so far with the whole process, but fingers crossed summit good will come out of it all,

My son got a place on Phase 1 a week after his AC last November because he was joining in a priority role, so maybe have a look at those on the website.
That said, a friend's son passed his AC with flying colours last month and has been told that most roles are not available until at least Spring next year at the earliest.
If he wants a specific role he may have to be prepared to wait quite a while....

What job does he want to do?

I don't know how it works are Harrogate, but when adults join they can only be offered a certain trade if there is (or is likely to be) a vacancy regardless of how well the candidate does on assessment.

Also since the Army started they will always try to push people into where they have the most vacancies.
