Hello!
This is Maria, from Care first Recruitment Ltd. The reason for posting this job opportunity here is because we would like to consider ex-Armed Forces personnel and Service-leavers who are trying to transition to civilian life and returning to/starting work.
We are Care first Recruitment Ltd, an agency based in London, specialising in the Care Sector, and we are currently recruiting for PASSENGER ASSISTANTS / ESCORTS, to chaperone children (most of them disabled or looked-after), to and from school / day centres and colleges, throughout West-Central London areas and also Bedfordshire.
This role may not be what you have in mind for the long-term future, but it is definitely a good transition into work, and if you are looking forward to receiving the equivalent of part-time income while doing a rewarding job by contributing to the well-being of children, and still have some time for yourself during weekdays, this is an ideal opportunity. You would basically work very few hours in the week, Monday to Friday, doing the morning and afternoon school run (with a part-time salary remuneration).
We need both male and female Passenger Assistants, with a keen interest on male applicants, as we have shortage of these in the Care Industry. There are various vacancies available for the same Passenger Assistant role, (not just one), as we constantly need to assign new passenger assistants to new lists of children provided to us by the Local Authorities/London boroughs.
You will only be required to work with a child/children for as little as 1.5 to 3 hours per day (morning and afternoon shifts combined together), giving you daytime flexibility between the school runs to manage your own time, however you will still be paid 5 or 6 hours per each day (this is dictated by each local authority, depending on the child's route length too) . You must be available to work Monday to Friday and commit to both the morning (anytime between 7.30am-9.30am) and afternoon shifts (anytime between 2.30pm-4.30pm).
You will be required to communicate effectively with the agents in our office and parents/foster carers, to ensure all children are provided with the up-most care, safety and supervision, and have a comfortable and dignified journey at all times.
You do not require lots of experience within this field to be considered for this role, however, you will need to be able to demonstrate patience, understanding and awareness of issues around children having mild to moderate disabilities, special needs, autism and challenging behaviour. Experience looking after children in your family is suitable too.
Hours: 25 to 30 hours per week pay at a rate of £10.75 per hour.
Benefits: flexible working hours, holiday pay accrued for each hour that you work, statutory sick pay in line with HMRC guidance.
TO APPLY, PLEASE CONTACT: maria@carefirst.biz or call 0207 034 0550 (ask for Maria Marin).
Many thanks for your interest!
Best wishes
