Just had a pop up on page load, I'm guessing from an advert, about Java needing upgrading. Complete horseshit

I'm getting the same pop up plus another couple telling me my PC Performance is poor - I'm running Windows 8 at the moment and seems to be a particularly nasty problem to resolve !

I have the Java platform as well as plugins disabled on my browser as they're often not needed.

It's nothing to do with java. I haven't looked at it as it popped up only the once.

However, it's probably an ecma script of some description leading to a download that *isn't* Java no matter waht the wrapper says, so the unwary think they are "upgrading" when in fact they're just letting their PC get bummed

Java does have some issues of its own, though - hence the relentless updates.

Yep, I have just had the same message. I closed the site and McAfee has given me a warning that it has blocked content that is streaming from the site.
