Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. HERE

  2. Using children as human shields - is there a higher calling?
  3. It comes as no surprise that recently Labour gave 420 million quid to Pakistani education/schools.....
  4. 420 million to President Musharraf's retirement fund, you mean?
  5. Rayc

    Rayc RIP

Well if some feel that they were born for martyrdom, why deny them their wish?
  6. There isn't a punishment harsh enough for those "teachers".
  7. Dammed if you do dammed if you don't! however nice to see the "religious leaders" doing the usual calling for martyrdom of everyone else apart from them. looks like Musharraf's got a tricky situation that looks like it cant be solved by talking.

Bugly any link to the 420 million as if so then why doesn't our kids education come before another counties and it would be a bit hard to explain in the commons if this school has received some of the dosh and has used it to train nutters and buy guns. I take it that the donation will also be wholly transparent in any audit

  8. LINK
  9. THIS the one you mean Bugly?
  10. Thanks totally out of order when that money could go a long way to repairing/upgrading MQ's?singlies accom plus more resources for local schools etc. But then again Liebour have to do every attempt to win the asian vote as that's what will keep them in power!
  11. The only way to stop these people from becoming so called martyr's is to arrest and try those who teach this religious crap eg: teachers and radical Immams in the schools and mosques. This would be a deterent to those followers contemplating in attacking the western way of life and to bring themselves into the 21st century.
  12. Either you are isolationist or you are not.

Therefore as an international power it is in Britain's interest to support the creation of a strong state education alternative to the madrassas. Less extremism means less trouble for the UK in future years to come.

Many of the survivors of this madrassa had no where else to go and when the Pakistani government offered them shelter - the majority of the students fled quite happily.

There is no real state education sector in Pakistan the creation of an alternative will that poor families will not have to rely on the madrassas for a basic education for their children.
  13. Why should we Pakistan could find the money to develop and build nuclear weapons perhaps the money would have been better spent on state education than willy waving once again people who fail to realize priorities and expect the west to bail them out
  14. Without the help of Pakistan's ISI there may well have been several more 7/7's by now. There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world, if you want Pakistan's help in fighting terrorism then you better be prepared to pay for it. And this nuclear weapons argument is foolish - why does the UK spend billions on Trident when there is so much difficulty in the NHS, schools, housing, children living in poverty, etc? Countries generally put their defence needs first.
  15. And without the help of the ISI there might never have been a 9/11 7/7 etc sdsome these clowns supported the taliban and lets not forget it plus will the ISI be so helpful once Musharraf has left the building?
