Is this a browser problem or not ?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

Opened up the site as usual using Mozilla Firefox and noticed a complete lack of icons & avatars.
Also on the threads the "Quote", "Profile", "PM", "New Topic" and "Post Reply" facilities have disappeared, presumably because they're icons too.
No amount of refreshing the page, re-booting, etc cured the problem.

However when I opened the site using IE everything was in place.
    What's the problem ?
  2. I'm afraid it seems to be a FireFox thing. I had FF running perfectly for about 6 months and then it started being fussy about which sites it would display and those it would not. I run heavy virus etc. kit and nothing from there. Exp worked OK on things FF rejected I dumped FF. TBird still works OK.

Cheers ORC, do you have a link to TBird ?
I've tried searching for it but to no avail.
Is it another browser or am I just being a netmong ?
  4. Cuts,

Mozilla Thunderbird is a free email client not a browser. I am using firefox 1.0.4 (the latest version) and Arrse is working fine. However, I did uninstall and re-install it a few weeks ago.

There is a freeware tool called Mozbackup that saves your favorites, settings etc if you want to try uninstall/re-install.

Instructions on how to use Mozbackup can be found here.
