Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. there is much speculation on other boards about the iminent demise of the Browning L9a1 9mm Pistol from the British army armoury.
It has been a report in ? The Mail On Sunday which indicated that the replacement was going to be the Glock 17 but to pay for it the Mod would have to sell the Brownings to another country.

Any body have any idea as to WTF is going on about this?
  2. And your point being :!:
  3. They better replace it with a man's gun, like the 500 S&W Magnum.

And we will all look like this....
  4. cos it was the crappest
  5. Owooooooh! My picture's on the net at last!
Must have left out the rolled-up sock, though. My PRperson needs smacking.

re: gun. whatever: the Springfield was always the smaller, simpler, cheaper, more efficient, better option so why the Browning was ever used is a bit of a mystery. Or maybe not, considering the political options at the time.
