Some countries apparently have a 'None of the above' option on their ballot papers. If that was introduced for the next UK election I reckon there might be quite a few constituencies returning that result. No idea what that might cause in terms of local MP representation though.
None of the parties want a GE at the moment. Rumbling away in the background are the mandatory Association AGMs and the knives are out and being sharpened. Hence why the three Tories went independant, had they stayed put they would have been deselected against the will of the CCHQ, I would anticipate the same for the 8 Labour MP's. The Parties are in a chaotic state so God forbid TM does anything so crass as go to the Country. TM would not survive a GE as the 1922 committee will be forced to kick off a leadership contest.
The local elections are shortly to kick off and I am aware that some parties are having a real drama in getting people to stand for Town/District and County seats. I rather think we apply lots of sticky tape and hope and pray we get through the Brexit saga without the Independent Party becoming the majority then we are all stuffed!
