Is ARRSE invisible on the WWW?

All discussion forums are blocked on Home Office servers.

Except Arrse

My bandwidth, using a VPN (Opera) was affected Mon & Tue this week but wed onwards back up to full steam ahead. So plenty of entertainment in the Robme Household. Can I give a shoutout for the Mandolarian, a Star Wars spin off, which is very good.
Nobody gives a flying one about what some failure at life doley does or doesn't do. So we require no further updates from you for what passes for a life.

Fellow Arrsers, like many I am working from home at the moment and using a Company VPN.

I work for a huuuuuge, global company, and the IT bods have decided that all non-essential electronic traffic is to be temporarily cut down, presumably to save on bandwidth.

They have blocked video conferencing, you tube, and pretty much every website you can think of that has any form of embedded video playback, as well as the usual ones which are permanently blocked, like porn and game sites and the like.

They have blocked news sites, sports sites, and news paper sites. Even the BBC.

Yet... they missed this site! I am happily posting this whilst I should be working (as usual).

So what makes this site so sneaky beaky that it hasn't been added to the culled list yet?!

It's insignificant on the grand scheme of things however i did a quick check just now and 51.4% of traffic to arrse comes from mod.uk which is interesting. More serving members on here than some of us thought eh.
However, the 2ndlargest traffic source is bootcampmilitaryfitnessinstitute.com which just sounds like spam. They are providing 18.2% of the traffic.

It may not be in the list if well known sites to block, being too small to have been noticed or it may just defy being catagorised. The swear filter and no pron policy will help it to remain unblocked however the presence of photo's of weapons can get a site onto the banned list these days.

Ive told you all before im sure

A previous Aviation sector employers IT dept had an over enthusiastic sweary / that's porn filter

As such important documentation such as PDF files for Turbine Inlet Temperatures (eg BF Goodrich T.I.T PN B2whatever ) frequently vanished into the ether and searching for starting vibrators earned an interview with HR

It was known to throw a wobbler if you wrote Scunthorpe** as well and on one occasion hoe

**Only ever done im sure to annoy IT
Yep, I've suffered from that, dealing with a paedo and his numerous child porn sites and yet when I walked into work the next morning I found my account had been suspended. A VERY frosty phone call to Head Quarters soon followed.

Do you not have an isolated network for monitoring KP sites?

Don't forget Beavers.

Edit. Maybe because I'm flying to Switzerland after 2½ long day's fighting, for a spot of rehab, I don't seem to able to link the company @Mighty_Blighty works for, Beaver Pads, a property brokerage, director @AlienFTM .

if you want to work with Beaver Pads, apply here.

...or a major healthcare providor (not NHS). Their software used to block susSEX, BREAST surgery and a whole raft of medical terms that had sexual connotations. Evauation of patients' claims was fraught with issues for some months.

At one stage, our NHS Health Board webmarshall was pinging off and not allowing us to search for anything with the word "Oral" in it.

A tad inconvenient at times.

That would be the layers of management there to make your job easier by understanding what you do and streamlining the admin side of things.

No, not in those days I didn't. The guys at HQ had one but they palmed me off when they found out that 'The biggest child porn stash ever seized' wasn't seized in Kent!!
