  1. PTSD is very much in the news at the moment. The number of personnel who are self medicating using alcohol or recreational drugs in an attempt to deal with their problems or finding themselves in violent or abusive situations is on the increase. The accepted way of dealing with alcohol and drug misuse in service is a dishonourable discharge, similarly for crimes of violence. It has been suggested that a SNLR discharge is detrimental to those seeking treatment. Even more cynically that it a simple way of dealing with a bigger problem without cost. Does anyone have experience of treatment for any kind of injury physical or mental being withheld or withdrawn because of a dishonourable discharge?
