...this after spending most of the article stating that it's corruption and cronyism amongst the ANC which is to blame for the country's woes. But he would also have understood the terrible truth: two decades after the death of apartheid, white privilege is still alive and well.
Must be, or else Peter Hain wouldn't have thought he was such a wonderful leader for a country. He's supposed to be a really clever bloke too
Another interesting article here, ok it's fifteen years old but the clown's not changed his ground rules.Peter Hain said:I was delighted when President Mugabe won the elections in 1980.
From your link:
Now while I obviously have many black friends, a fair number are white. If Peter Hain thinks every white has a "grotesquely privileged existence," he's only using his own family as a reference or hasn't the remotest fcuking Scooby about South Africa, pre- or post-Arpartheid or even Madiba's government.Peter Hain said:Much of the condemnation comes from jaundiced whites – those who reluctantly praised the “Mandela miracle” but never accepted the consequences: the demise of their grotesquely privileged existence.
He needs to have a chat with these blokes:-From your link:

Ergo, for his deliberate, obtuse ignoring of the facts he deserves a chainsaw enema.
You're behind the times, it already is.
Oom Bob continually blame the 'Colonial Power' for all of Zim's woes too.
Many people have asked themselves the same question. It is a sad truism that when Zimbabwe was "Rhodesia" and S Africa was not "The Rainbow Nation" both were major exporters of food stuffs and, for African countries, probably some of the few where the majority of the population could live lives pretty free from rampant corruption and enjoy a high degree of personal security and safety.. Black Bob's latest ploy is all about getting UN funding to bail out his failed policies. His seizure of the white owned farms and giving them to his loyal cronies (as opposed to the dispossessed landless as he promised) has resulted in these new fiefdums being untended and bereft of the all too necessary rainwater collection and the maintenance of the irrigation systems .
In moments of idle speculation it is tempting to wonder whether or not colonialism is as wicked and evil a notion that many appear to consider it to have been.
$145 million is a poor effort.Like the last comment in the thezimbabwean.co online newspaper .
Oh the woes of starving Zimbo, its a crying shame ....
"It is actually humiliating to note that only less than two decades ago, Zimbabwe used to be the breadbasket of Southern Africa; capable of feeding no less than 250 million people. Thanks to the Zanu PF –induced violent and chaotic land reform program, Zimbabwe is now effectively a basket case; struggling to feed a small population of 13 million people. What a shame! What a fall from grace!"
Or from Wiki...
"Industrialized farming was once the backbone of the domestic Zimbabwean economy and contributed up to 40% of the exported produce. The result of large scale eviction of competent commercial white farmers, the government's land reform efforts and the severing of economic ties with Mozambique, means that was no longer the case.
Reliable crop estimates are no longer available since the agricultural marketing system collapsed. The Government banned maize imports, stating record crops for the year of 2004. The University of Zimbabwe estimated in 2008 that between 2000 and 2007 agricultural production decreased by 51%."
Think is was more like 36 years ago since 1980 its been in decline.
So its cap in hand to the WHO again....
"Speculation has put Mugabe’s net worth at an estimated US$145 million."
