Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Please can someone help as i have had no real answer from army medal office. If someone has been on a tour in Iraq Op Telic twice. The first time getting the medal/clasp and rosette due to serving between specific dates in the first gulf war are they entitled to anything else to be added to their medal ie a number indicating they have been out twice?

New to this SSA job and really need some help. cheers
  2. The answer is no. The tour numerals you have seen are for NATO Medal Former Yugoslavia and NATO Medal Kosovo, not British gongs. Hope this helps.
  3. The only thing you get out of it medal wise it that the total days spent in Iraq will count towards your ACSM.
  4. According to the MOD Medal Office, time towards the ACSM is only gained for tours that you get the OSM or GSM. As Iraq has a separate campaign medal, it DOES NOT count towards the ACSM

TELIC DOES count towards the award of the ACSM.
