Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. At 1530 Gordo the Moron is going to give information about having an inquiry into the Iraq war, should be interesting TV, or another BS whitewash

He'll make his painful announcement, and the press will say how good he's being, and we were mistaken JUST LAST WEEK when we all wanted him to leave.

But the inquiry will probably be in secret, will have very restricted terms of reference, won't be able to go back more than a couple of weeks before the war started, won't include the Americans, won't be able to force people to attend, and they won't have to tell the truth anyway.

And all the documents and records were shredded long ago.

    Cynic? Moi?
  3. Iraq - Brown is squeaky clean and Blair far from it. And that, is what an inquiry will reveal.
Brown knows it, Blair knows it, we know it.

Cyclops knows he will be remembered as one of the worst PMs in history but at least by having this inquiry he can take a lot of the shine off St Tony.

I wonder if Blair now regrets the disparaging remarks he make about Brown over the last few weeks.
  4. And a very useful distraction from the snouts in the trough scandal.
  5. I have but one thing to say-

The Hutton Inquiry and the death of Dr David Kelly.

WHich itself was a distraction from the total disregard of Parliament by the Government in power, the awfully drawn and draconian legislation being passed without scrutiny, and the fact that no politician wants any of this to change!
  7. Insn't that

    a. 2 things

    b. my taxi?

  8. a. No, it's one and the same

    b. It'll be along in a moment :D
  9. Gordon Brown needs to make it abundantly clear that no matter what the outcome of this enquiry no Service personnel acted in any way illegally in carrying out their duties in Iraq either before, during or after the invasion.

    Spot on!

There's no other way he can come out smelling of roses, and no other way he can have a belated pop at Blair and is 'ites' who tried to oust Broon.
  11. Yeh right. This enquiry will blame anyone and everyone but Mr Brown regardless of any facts that may inconveniently get in the way.
  12. No, he doesn't. Unfortunately, if he thinks he can dump some blame on anyone- from a private soldier to the Prince of Darkness, he'll go for it in the hope of distracting the public.
