Whilst we are all laying into Faye Turney and the Mr Bean bloke maybe we should consider this

1) They are taking all the flack that should be aimed at Nu Arbeit and its ministers who got them in the sh1t in the first place

2) The spin meisters are laughing their collective heads off at how they have got their bosses nuts out of the fire on this one whilst

3) The original victims have mutated into the bad guys

They had no choice in the hostage taking, to some degree I understand why they took part in the filmed propoganda (Though heaven knows why they constantly smiled) They did indeed have no choice in much of this sorry saga.

Where they did have a choice however, was when they decided to take money for their story.

They have dishonoured themselves and trampled on the graves of the fallen with their selfish actions.

If the forces are a microcosm of society... what does it say about our countries values that a member of the forces would stoop to that level.

No. They are deservedly taking the flak that's fairly aimed at them. Most people can aim quite different flak at Westminster and Whitehall, and are doing so.

Who exactly has been helped? And where/what's the alleged "spin"?

3) The original victims have mutated into the bad guys

No. We accept they've been through a nasty time; but that doesn't render them immune from fair criticism for other matters, like their behaviour since repatriation.
