Iran

In response to Iran’s recent pronouncements.

The US has engaged in a number of exercises in the Arabian Gulf that has indicated its readiness to deal with any Iranian escalation of its recent increased provocations.

On Monday, the Iranian Parliament took the step, of devaluing its currency. The rial will now be replaced with another basic unit of currency called the toman. Each toman will be worth 10,000 rials under the new system.

The move may have been hastened by Iran’s recent mishandling of COVID-19. Iran’s unprecedented fatality rate was bolstered by the high number of high-profile figures who began testing positive for the disease, after declaring it a hoax. Mahan Air an airline owned by the IRC continued to fly routes to and from Chinese cities long after flights to China had been supposedly banned.

From disinformation at the beginning, religious refusal to ban large congregations, belief that Allah would take care of them, inability to deal with travellers coming to and from from China, their refusal to abandon plans for a nuclear weapon, their ongoing use of funds for regional terrorism instead of their own people, to everything that followed has contributed to the present disastrous financial situation.

Is it not that the currency has already devalued over the recent years through inflation and against other currencies. They are just a knocking off zeros to make it more manageable as has happened in many countries previously.

When you knock a few zeros off, it's actually called revaluing the currency.

Just like the Iranians are revaluing their Navy.

Apparently they found one surplus to requirements and tried to dispose of it during target practice.

IRGC almost sink one of their own ships.

The Konarak, a Hendijan-class support ship, which was taking part in the exercise was hit by an Noor anti-ship missile fired from the Iranian frigate Jamaran, a leading Moudge class vessel of 1500 tonnes 133ft with a crew of around 140.

The single shot hit probability of the Noor, with a range of 170 km, is supposedly as high as 98%...but it seems, cannot distinguish between friend or foe.

Capable of firing sea and anti-ship missiles. The Koronak is a Dutch -made, 155-foot 40 ton vessel. The ISNA news agency reported that 19 sailors were 'martyred' in the Green on Green with another 15 admitted to hospital.

The second missile boo-boo the IRGC have had recently, the other being the shooting down of a Ukrainian 737 which was taking off from Teheran.

And these clowns want nuclear weapons???

First there was the Labour Party tweeting the our solution will be the final solution

Now Iran are having their turn

A positive development, for a change.

'A United States Navy veteran jailed in Iran for nearly two years has been released and started making his way home, with the first leg on a Swiss government aircraft, US officials said on Thursday. "The nightmare is over," his mother said.

'The US special envoy for Iran, Brian Hook, flew to Zurich with a doctor to meet freed detainee Michael White and will accompany him to the US on board an American plane, the officials said.'

“The story is not Trump, nor even Israel. The story is Iran - the growing dread that a new U.S. administration will go back to the nuclear deal which threatens the very existence of the Gulf countries,” Tzachi Hanegbi, who sits in Netanyahu’s security cabinet, told Tel Aviv radio station 102 FM.

That's the third time this bloke's been slotted on ARRSE today. Is his middle name Jonah?

Anyhow their navy seems to have either A converted merchant ship or it’s one of their LPD kitted out as the title states ‚„ Floating arms bazaar‘

Iran Unveils Its New Sea Base Warship That Looks Like A Floating Arms Bazaar

The 412 helo on deck is remnants from the old Shah days, AgustaBell built under license. There’s an array of mobile Land based SSM and coastal artillery plus UAVs, and their favourite speedboats.

Nothing like a nice target for an AGM-88 Harpoon...

cheers
