Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hello all, I have registered here as a result of an e-mail about the SSAFA project in Ashtead.

The e-mail was sent to me by an ex-squaddie who is a friend on another website.

I am not ex-forces unfortunately, I am in the Ambulance Service in Liverpool, have been for almost 16 years.

Whilst I will not have any credit for not being current or ex-forces, nor any 'trust' for being a newbie, I would ask you to look at these links:

I have been a member of WWW.AirgunBBS.com for about 5 years and as you will read from the link(s) I have two appeals going.

Both appeals are with help of a fellow member.

We have so far sent out over 400 boxes of goodies to British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We are currently trying to get Toiletries and clothing for injured troops who are in a military ward in a hospital near Birmingham.

Please have a look at my posts on the airgunBBS website.

    Thank you!

  2. Well done Clifftop -good to see some people out there do care.

Welcome to ARRSE, sit back and prepare for a bumpy ride!

I'm off to see if I have a bottle of Old Spice in the cupboard to send in.

  3. Er, these goodies, was the more distant part of a lorry involved at all? ;)

    Well done mate and welcome.

We all know it's at Selly Oak, no need to be dark glasses about it.

    Well done though.

  5. WE might all know, but I was under the impression it was preffered to remain kept quiet???

What remarkable work you have done, and as for your thread being removed SHAME on YOU for such ACTIONS; on the removal.

Civvies actually taking time out, to support and promote the effect caused by an 'ILLEGAL WAR' that NEW LABOUR - NO SHAME, placed our forces in. Over the period of time, we have moaned that we are getting no public recognition/support because of our government, on lraq & Afhgan. Then when some-one attempts to helps, they are treated appallingly..............That surely cannot be justifiable!

What a good idea it would be, if we could produce an advert along the lines of the 'African Appeals' or 'Great Ormond Street Hospital' asking for donations of clothing. l cannot believe this is truly happening, in a modern day society, such as the United Kingdom. That we are NEGLECTING our troops, that's ABUSE.

Would it be possible to post your thread on 'Current Affairs', as l for one do not always use this area of ARSSE, and you need all the support that you can get, from others on the forum.

  8. Clifftop, you have helped me take one step closer to regaining my trust in our so called Great British Public.
    Well done mate.

  10. Clifftop, it might help a little more so if you change the title of either thread to one describing your aim or what the thread is about.
I was going by pass it but it was only the nosey cow in me that pushed to look a bit further.

    Good luck in your quest.
