Internet porn to be blocked in the UK.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. DCam is to announce Internet grot will only be available to households who 'opt in'
Who will be the censor, what will they class as 'porn' Has David Cameron fuck all better to do with his time??

  2. They tried a similar thing here. It got shouted down by the furiously masturbating masses. Given there's over a billion chronic wankers in the UK, as opposed to 23 million here, I think you'll be ok.

  5. The daily wail will be jizzing its pants now, they've been running articles almost daily for the past year about individual cases where blokes or teenagers have been "warped" by watching grot.

Fucks sakes am I going to have to go back to awkwardly buying Mayfair & Razzle at newsagents & petrol stations? Retro....

  6. The Hamsters gonna be getting some hits this week.

  8. Then take some responsibility as a father and be a decent parent and deal with the issue!

Thought they did that already. Last I heard all the big companies involved had filters which meant people couldn't accidentally stumble across child porn, so you had to go out your way to find it. Therefore rendering "It was an honest mistake guv!" excuse utterly sunk.

  9. 1984 yet again

  10. Isn't that what 95% of the net is for? Does Moore's Law go backwards?

  11. Whilst I have no objection against a clampdown on child pornography this is state censorship on a massive scale. Who is going to make the decisions on what is pornography?

Also I look forward to more details, it seems to me a fag packet idea. So the government forces google.co.uk to disable searches of porn but whats to stop a user going to google.com which is hosted in the USA. Are the government planing to block all foreign sites, a bit like China or N.Korea.

This is a unworkable solution that's dreamed up to appease the Daily Mail idiots, but in reality a complete waste of funds and time, any 12 year old boy will get around this in a heartbeat.

From own experience if the 14 year olds can get past the various Web Marshalls applied at schools to get onto specific blocked sites such as Facebook and porn then would imagine that adults will find their way to porn quite easily too.

And anyway if you block the likes of google and folk have to go round about ways to look for things on the Internet does that not just make it harder for GCHQ to keep track of who's looking up what!

  13. So, if they bring this in then all you have to do to get around it is, get a 14 year old to switch it off?

  15. Cue awkward phone calls to ISPs.

'Hello, is that BT? I can't access some websites'

'What exactly can't you access sir?'

    'Just...some websites.'
