Intelligence Officers

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Sorry if this thread already exists but I can't see anything.

What type of person becomes an Intelligence Officer? Like all other officer roles advertised by the army, I just get the impression that I get the glam side of the role, the promotion of "opportunities for adventurous training" etc, and still struggle to actually understand what the daily role of an Int Officer is.

Sorry if this sounds naive, but I am really interested in this or the RLC but the job descriptions are vague.

To be an Int officer do you have to be super smart? excellent at maths, etc?

    Thanks

  2. Sorry can I just add that something I forgot. I know that Intelligence Corps is made up of bright, skilled soldiers but all the websites, information appears to be geared towards soldier recruitment, I can't see much on officer careers in the corps.
    Thanks

  3. An Intelligent one!

  4. Isn't that because the soldiers do the most work.... :D
