Insurance in BFG

#1
Anyone any experience of motorcycle insurance in BFG? I have just been quoted €4000+ for fully comp insurance on a HondaVF750. I queried this but was assured it is correct as fully comp in Germany is expensive and most people take out 3rd part fire and theft.

Find a UK insurer who is acceptable to BFG. As I recall, mb insurance in Germany was always weighted on a power based calculation making bigger sports bikes very expensive.

I can confirm that the situation you outline is correct. Comprehensive bfg acceptable insurance for bikes in Germany, unless they have a relatively low power output is prohibitively expensive for most people even with lots of no claims. The vast majority have to live with third party fire & theft only.

You will also struggle to find a UK insurer who 1. Willing to insure you for a motorbike for bfg registration & 2. Even if they say they are willing, are acceptable to the bfg licensing office.

You could try Military Sales in Germany, a specialist bfg insurance broker on 05241 26239 for more information. Hope this helps.
