Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi,
I'm currentley serving in the RAVC as a dog handler. I have served 9 years in the army and am looking to transfer to the RLC as a port operater or a postal courier.
Can anybody advise on these trades such as higher/lower payband and general morale in the trade.

    Cheers

  2. Your dog may have better career prospects.

Payband and prospects - RCMO or pay office can advise.

Morale try picking up phone and speak to someone rather than rely on nameless p!ss-takers on a web forum

  3. Port Op is also slightly overmanned at the minute.

  4. Do you happen to know if its higher or lower payband?
    Can't find the info anywhere.

  5. Pretty academic really as both trades are over-manned and not taking transfers.

Well done! Excellent post with no idea whatsoever. Posties are NOT undermanned. I will try and find out their pay bands when I get back to the office on Monday.

Errm, I do know what I am talking about - no transfers into the PC trade but apply if you want.
