  1. Hi im not intrested in opinions as to the infantrys pay. We all know they dont get enough and in a lot of danger most of the time and they do deserve more.
But is it true that all infantry are on the higher pay band. Just some of the booties i work with have been told they do. Royal marines only get it when they get in to certain trades ie VM, medic etc.
Just wanted to know if there is any truth in it.
  2. yes they are, up to and including Sgt :)
  3. Yes it's bloody dangerous in Coly town centre after 2300hrs. Especially in the Green Zone where all the kebab shops are!
  4. Any idea why marines arnt then?
  5. Cause they're shite?

They always used to be paid higher than an Inf soldier, must have changed since I served them them
Mind you that was a very, very long time ago.
  7. How much would an Infantry soldier get on higher pay band?
  8. Well done. It's only 2 years out of date.
  9. as far as i remember

infantry is lower band as a pte

higher from lance jack to c/sgt
  10. The Answer is because RM are self sufficient, you will find their trade pay bands mirror the Corps / Regiments of the Army. Inf being no exception:

    MNE - L
    CPL - H
    SGT - H
    CSGT - L
    WO2 - H
    WO1 - H

    PTE - L
    LCPL - H
    CPL - H
    SGT - H
    CSGT - L
    WO2 - H
    WO1 - H

Morale of the story, don't believe everything you hear in the Sqn Bar :)
