Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. 'Gunmen killed' at Delhi airport

Six gunmen have been shot dead by Indian security forces at Delhi's main international airport, according to airport officials.

Security had been strengthened at several Indian airports after warnings had been received of possible attacks.

The reported shootings follow last week's attacks on Mumbai in which nearly 200 people were killed.

The police force in charge of security at Delhi's main airport has denied reports that people have been shot and injured there.

Police are investigating "two sharp sounds that were heard at the airport", the force told the BBC's Delhi bureau.

Earlier, airport officials said shots had been fired, and that several gunmen had been killed or injured.

  4. Why on earth do people always insist on bashing Fox news, so the right leaning folk have a single news network that leans to their views, the horror.

  5. Because it's shiite. Nothing to do with its slant. Dung is dung, whichever angle you stack it.

  6. The same as cnn and most other US news networks, but people seem to whinge about Fox the most.

  7. The BBC reported shots fired at the airport, which was wrong and crap journalism.

Fox reported that the BBC had reported shots fired at the airport, which was wrong and crap and lazy journalism.

  8. And justifiably. Name another major US news network that has something on par to the "Fox News Alert" with its red flashing warning light? It was originally intended to give immediate notice of important breaking news, lets say for fun 9/11 (or 11/9 in British money). Not to highlight that Paris Hilton is out of her menial "prison sentence" for drink driving. Also they hardly ever directly quote anybody when tying to make a point, merely saying "some people say...." to make outlandish claims.

Yes a lot of them are of the same level, and their ilk here in the UK aren't far off being the same. But Fox news is the worst.

  9. ^Sky's breaking news banner is just as annoying though...it must be a News Corp thing.

The problem with Fox is the constant fair-and balanced slogan that they keep ramming down your throat and personality-driven programmes that consist of presenters shouting specious arguments at each other like hyperactive toddlers.

Of course it's the whole conservative v liberal political divide that keeps it all going and I suppose we ought to be grateful that we don't really have that over here.
