Ref point 1, how would you propose to dismantle confirmation bias without ruffling feathers ?
Point 2, agreed
Some years ago, I was involved in the public information campaign that had to persuade a large population that the movement its A&E facilities was possible without compromising safety.
The method was simple messages and having a stock of simple, robust responses ready to any of the questions expected to arise - these aren't too hard to predict, incidentally.*
In this case, if I were the government, I'd also be ringing around the main media and telling them to get their shít in gear and get behind the public service remit or face consequences.
Frankly, the pursuit of 'gotcha' moments by the traditional media has become tiresome. But I'd also be telling the new media that perpetuating some of the dangerous nonsense is something that they will be held accountable for.
Said media are quick enough to be all over stuff which doesn't suit their political tastes, so policing is possible.
*In this case:
Is the vaccine harmful?
Does it contain any products that might compromise my personal beliefs?**
Why do I need this vaccine now - what has changed?
In order:
No.
No - neither meat products nor 5G 'chips'.
Because the virus has mutated and everyone is susceptible to it.
**Note that there will always be outright moon-howlers, who in the end just have to be told get the jab or be cast out of society.
