IMF leader detained after alleged sex attack - US news - Crime & courts - msnbc.com

Strauss-Kahn, a possible 2012 candidate for president of France, was pulled from his first-class seat on an Air France flight
...
Strauss-Kahn, 62, allegedly crept up behind a 32-year-old maid after she entered his room and forced her to perform oral sex on him
...
Strauss-Kahn is a married father of four. His third wife, Anne Sinclair, is a well-known American-born French TV journalist.

Strauss-Kahn, leader of France's Socialist Party, was scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Sunday.

Three years ago, Strauss-Kahn was accused of having a fling with a former underling at the Davos international forum
...
On Friday, French President Nicholas Sarkozy was accused of organizing a smear campaign against Strauss-Kahn by focusing on his rival's lavish lifestyle, including buying suits from the same tailor who outfits U.S. President Barack Obama...
Is it possible that the maid was paid by French secret servece? I suspect that she deliberately entered the room while mr.Strauss-Kahn was in a bathroom. The IMF leader thought that it would be just a little adventure that turned into a big problem.

It's interesting what our friend Fantassin thinks about this story.

It is a previous story about mr.Strauss-Kahn.

Well he has previous, so where there's smoke there is usually fire. Personally I think that his arrest is part of a wider international plot to discredit socialist bankers and politicians and replace them with more centre or right leaning actors. What say you Tovarisch?

#3
Maybe he had just been watching the pay for porn channel.
You know the one,the maid comes in,very short skirt, very low top, bending over if front of some guy whilst she does the dusting..........
and you know what comes next.

It is possible. But what if mr.Brown will replace mr.Strauss-Kahn?

Frankly I cant see it happening, the world economic order is changing (overdue) with moves away from the pure fantasy socialist economics (of which Mr. Brown is a firm proponent) to a more pragmatic economic culture.

There is no love lost between Sarky and DSK, in fact its fair to say that he has a lot of personal enemies in French right of center political circles.
Neither DSK or Sarky have formally announced their candidature for the next election (summer 2012), but opinion polls have already put DSK in front. Even Carla having twins and papers full of baby photos at the Élysée Palace will not save Sarky IMO.
I'm no fan of French socialists but Martine Aubry would be worse than DSK, and if he is out of the running it makes her the favourite.
While it is entirely believable that he had his dick in somebodies mouth, I find it hard to believe the charges, he may be stupid but he is no fool, it stinks of a setup.
Both Trichet at the ECB and DSK at the IMF have done a good job throughout the financial crisis and have good CV's, but whereas Trichet has said he will retire, DSK will be continuing his career back in France - clearly somebody is worried.

Bugger! 'KGB resident' voiced my fear first! If the world wishes to have its entire financial infrastructure and viability destroyed and rendered useless, then they should appoint the failed oaf Brown to head the IMF. Oaf Brown may not indulge in criminal sexual activity but you can be certain that the cretinous clown will indulge in an orgy of Marxist oriented financial mismanagement and waste.

At least not with women or men over the age of 18...

DSK is a known sex addict and few people will be suprized by this in France.

It could be a set up but it could also be DSK being once again caught in the act but this time in the US of A where fcucking chamber maid is not a good idea when you hold a public office.

Interstingly, DSK had just sued the French daily 'France Soir' for making, according to him, false allegations on his lavish life style (DSK is supposed to have ordered 35,000 USD bespoke suits according to the daily).

Most of DSK's money comes from his wife Anne Sinclair, the heiress to a very rich Paris art merchant; DSK himself does not come from money even though he has definitely now developed a very very strong taste for it.

For Sarko and the French right, this must be a dream come true; DSK is a much more credible contender for the Socialist party than all the others (Royal, Hollande and Aubry) and Marine Le Pen will once again be proven right in her campaign to 'clean up' France and its political leaders....

I'd like to see the suit that cost $35,000 bespoke or not, must be some tailoring that

I suspect it would be easier to reverse the earths polarity.....
Just as well. The prospect of Gordon, naked in a hotel room is too terrible to contemplate. Our esteemed PM has let it be known that he'll approve Gordon as a candidate for CinC IMF just as soon as hell freezes over. Looks like Gordon will be making a living as a "distinguished lecturer" (they wouldn't even make him a visiting Prof) at the University of Somewhere-Youve-Never-Heard-Of for the foreseeable future. Oh - and drawing full parliamentary salary and expenses despite never turning up.

Let us see how how the S-K affair pans out before we make judgements. Could be anything from a Spanish speaking maid misinterpreting the phrase "I've got a generous tip for you" to attempted rape by a bloke who thinks he is above the law to some sort of blackmail plot.

I recall reading somewhere that France wont extradite French citizens to the USA. Does anybody know if that is true?

Definitely a bad month of May for DSK…first he is seen boarding a Porsche and now he is caught with his pants down….

Porschegate leaves Sarkozy rival with the headache of champagne socialism | World news | The Guardian

In a country that has never forgiven Nicolas Sarkozy's love of bling, it wasn't the brightest idea for the French Socialists' great presidential hope to be photographed climbing into a €100,000 Porsche car.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the International Monetary Fund and long-hailed as the only man who can beat Sarkozy, now looks certain to return to France and run for president in 2012. Secret meetings in Paris in recent days have mobilised his future campaign team. But "Porschegate" has created a headache for the man whose greatest challenge is convincing voters that he is not a haughty champagne socialist.

The first sentence to be 'bolded' needs to be preceded by a health warning!

".....and drawing full parliamentary salary and expenses despite never turning up."

How can this be permitted? Of course, the failed oaf is a politician - so it says on his passport.

Of course the French won't extradite 'Frogs' to America. There is a death penalty in America and anyway. Additionally, it irritates the Americans and thus gives the French pleasure!

PS: It seems that this man is a 'socialist' in the same mould as most of ours: millionaires!
