Identifying a WW II medical box

Red001

Clanker
A colleague at our Cairo delegation has come across this crate, which looks like it might have been left behind in Egypt by RAMC personnel during WW II. The guy who bought it just knows it came from an antique shop in Cairo, nothing more.

Anybody able to identify it, and make an inspired guess as to what the almost illegible text under the red cross emblem could be? The logical words would be "hospital" or "ambulance", but neither seem to fit.

Definitely, thanks muchly -- they were clearly made in large numbers, so not surprising one turned up in Cairo.
