How to improve my run time?

Try running for longer distances, eg instead of just 1.5mile do 3mile runs, if your not already doing that.

Interval training also works, so you walk for a minute, jog a minute, run for a minute and then sprint for a whole minute, then you start again, do that for 3 or 4 reps at a time. Try doing that twice a week as well as the normal 1.5mile runs and you will increase your speed a lot.

I found that for training for a 1,5mile run (2.4 kms for me), I was doing a 3km circuit and training for that, that way 2.4km seems a lot easier and you can push yourself harder.
