After all your training and when you get to your barracks, how much room for stuff do you have? Any room for a pc and the likes?

Bear in mind that if it ain't tied down some bugger will nick it, so I'd wait to see where you go before you start bringing in the expensive white goods. Some of the accn is very nice indeed, but some of it makes you want to live in a basha in the local park.

If you go to Bruggen/Javalin Bks in Germany,it's all (or was when I was there) single man apart from 1 or 2 old blocks. The blocks are 'H' shaped & the rooms in the middle on each side are larger than the rest,on average the size of your normal large box room at home.Put it like this, you could get a double bed in them & still have plenty of room.

I was in Javalin Bks in one of the 232 blocks. and could not get a double bed in there  . i had a sofa bed that i had to put away to get into my lockers.
they did have a urinal in most rooms though :p .

Javelin Bks however was plush compared to the blocks in Corsham.

Carl depends where you are but often if you deploy as an augmentee (on your own away from your unit) or on a long course they make you pack your room up into MFO boxes that are then stored in the QM's.

As for security, just make sure you have good kit insurance

Cheers Dicso, I didnt think about insurance, thanks.
You'll be taught about it during training.

edit - not being sarky, as I see this could be read that way. In training (at least when I joined) they'll spend half a day talking to you about insurance, endowment policies etc.
