I read today that the war in Iraq has so far cost British tax-payers more than £5 billion. Given that the war hasn't exactly been a resounding success, I started thinking about what else we could have spent that money on - hospitals, education, helping the developing world, and most importantly of all, beer. If my calculations are correct, at current prices that money could have paid for 1,992,031,872.5 pints of beer. If you're struggling to get your head around just how much beer that is, don't worry - I drew a diagram to help you visualise it:

    Not enough!!!!

Was not beer invented in this area? Let's keep up the tradition.
  4. Get into Yates or Weatherspoons down here in Coly and stop splashing out at £2.51 a pint and you can stick another third onto that figure.
  5. Probably spent enough to plumb in direct connections from breweries to everyones homes...
  6. what about thinking of it in crates
  7. And knowing my luck I would be the poor sod who got the .5 of a pint. :(
  8. Lots of crates. :p
